Frequently Asked Questions 

 

Is ARB open to the public?

Yes, we are able to service essential service providers, qualified tradespersons and the general public.

 

How many people are allowed in our branches?

ARB Electrical Wholesalers is required to guarantee that there are controls in place to ensure that all customers keep a distance from each other and that all directions in respect of hygienic conditions and the exposure of persons to Covid-19 are adhered to. 

 

On this basis we have implemented individual branch rules that limit the numbers of customers, suppliers and staff in the branch.

 

What are you doing to make it safe for me to shop in your branch?

ARB Electrical Wholesalers has various measures in place to maintain a clean and healthy environment in our branches. 

 

We have ramped these measures up even further. We are taking all necessary measures to increase hygiene in our branches, such as increasing the frequency with which we wipe down high touch point surfaces. Providing customer hand sanitiser points throughout the branch. Provision of PPE to staff as well as intensifying screening and awareness of personal preventative measures to protect their and your health. Practising social distancing in stores.

 

Must all customers wear masks?

Everyone must wear a cloth face mask or homemade item that covers the nose and mouth when in a public place, as per the Regulations issued in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2020.

 

All customers will be required to wear a mask at all times whilst in any of our branches or parking areas.

 

Must all staff in the stores wear masks and gloves? 

There is no legal requirement to wear gloves at this stage and we are taking our guidance from the World Health Organisation that wearing of gloves is counter-productive.

 

The provision of masks for our staff is a legal requirement in terms of the Regulations and we have provided masks to all staff in all our branches. All customer will also be required to wear a mask at all times whilst in any of our branches or parking areas.

 

What safety measures have you put in place for deliveries?

Our drivers will keep 70%+ alcohol hand sanitiser on them at all times. They’ll apply it before picking up, and before dropping off products, as well as after all non-delivery breaks.

 

There will be no physical contact between the delivery courier and you. The courier will ensure that there is at least 2m between you at all times, by announcing themselves to you, leaving the parcel at your front door and stepping back for you to open your door and collect it. 

 

Please remember to wash your hands regularly, before and after receiving your delivery. Please avoid direct contact with drivers, such as handshakes.
